Education for Reconciliation

Alberta Regional Professional Development Consortia (ARPDC), led by Calgary Regional Consortium (CRC) and Edmonton Regional Learning Consortium (ERLC), is pleased to introduce its First Nations, Métis and Inuit Education for Reconciliation grant. ARPDC is responsible for providing professional learning at all levels of school jurisdictions that results in an increased awareness and understanding of First Nations, Métis and Inuit histories, perspectives, and ways of knowing for the purpose of implementing treaty and residential schools’ education and Truth and Reconciliation Commission recommendations for education.

Moving from development to implementation across the province over the next few years, the ARPDC Education for Reconciliation will provide professional learning opportunities to strengthen instructional leadership to lead learning related to foundational knowledge and its application in relation to the draft School Leadership Standards and dig deeper in the learning to support teachers’ in the achievement of competencies related to First Nations, Métis and Inuit in supporting curriculum implementation of Education for Reconciliation.
